Many people wonder why they cannot just leave their cat at home for a few days with ample food and water. Below are just a few of the reasons:
Cat's claws may get caught in carpet or upholstered furniture
Cat may unintentionally trap itself in a room without food, water, or litter
Cat may become ill or injured
Heat or air conditioning may fail, causing the cat to be subjected to dangerous temperatures
Cats can ingest string, toys, pill bottles or other such items, which may require immediate veterinary care
Cats who stop eating for more than 48 hours can go into liver failure, which requires immediate veterinary care
Cats may develop diarrhea, which, if left unattended while the owner is away, can make a real mess!
